Back Pain

Physical discomfort occurring anywhere on the spine or back, ranging from mild to disabling. Back pain can be brought on, or ‘triggered’, by everyday activities either at home or at work. Pain can also develop over time as a result of sitting, standing or not lifting correctly.

Sciatica affects the sciatic nerve, a large nerve extending from the lower back down the back of each leg. Sciatica is often caused by irritation of the root(s) of the lower lumbar and lumbo-sacral spine. Chiropractic treatments can help to relieve pressure on the sciatic nerve.

Injury Management

Injuries can occur across aspects of life ranging from sport and recreation to work and activities of daily living. If you are an athlete or engage in an exercise routine, it is recommended that you have a Chiropractor as part of your healthcare team to support your body. Chiropractic adjustments have also been found in several studies, to increase athletic performance.

Kids may benefit from Chiropractic care. Not only can problems be addressed, but also to work towards prevention of a healthy spine as they grow throughout the many developmental stages. Chiropractic adjustments for infants and children are very gentle and differ significantly from techniques performed on adults.

Neck and Shoulder Tension

The neck is very mobile, which means it is less stable than other areas of the body and more susceptible to injury. Trauma, poor posture and degenerative diseases, such as arthritis, are the most common causes of neck pain. Correct alignment assists to reduce pain and tension, and increase mobility.

Disc Degeneration

As discs lose their water content because of disease or age, they lose their height, bringing the vertebrae closer together. As a result, the nerve openings in your spine become more narrow. These discs don’t absorb the shocks as well, particularly when you are moving.

There are many physical changes you can experience during a pregnancy which can have an impact on posture and comfort. As baby becomes heavier, a Mums centre of gravity shifts, and her posture adjusts accordingly. Chiropractic care can include support and alignment for your back, pelvis and posture, and can reduce back pain!

Health Maintenance

Maintenance Chiropractic care supports the body to assist the systems to function correctly and maintain flexibility and movement through the spine. Much like exercise, Chiropractic can be helpful with regular visits. Prevention is better than cure!
